Which LVVWD tier is your irrigation in today?

Tier 1: $1.61/kgal (first 5k gal) Tier 2: $2.87/kgal (next 5k) Tier 3: $4.27/kgal (next 10k) Tier 4: $6.33/kgal (over 20k)

Your current summer usage is about 0 gallons/month. After conversion: about 5,000 gallons/month (just indoor use). Most of your savings come from getting out of Tiers 3 and 4.

How we calculate this. We estimate your current summer water use at 5,000 gal/month indoor baseline (typical for a 2–4 person Vegas household) plus 73 gallons per sq ft of lawn per year (SNWA's published estimate) divided by 12 months, concentrated into the summer months. We then tier that usage against the 2026 LVVWD single-family residential rate schedule ($1.61, $2.87, $4.27, $6.33 per 1,000 gallons across four tiers). Post-conversion usage drops to just your indoor baseline. Monthly savings is the difference. Annual savings is monthly × 12. Actual savings depend on your specific irrigation efficiency, household size, weather patterns, and billing cycle.

  • Lawn water use: 73 gallons per sq ft per year (SNWA published figure for Las Vegas residential turf).
  • Indoor baseline: 5,000 gal/month — assumed for a typical 2–4 person Vegas household (washing, cooking, showers, toilets). Yours may be higher or lower.
  • LVVWD residential rates (2026, 5/8" meter): Daily service charge $0.4627 ($13.88/mo on 30-day cycle). Tier 1: first 5,000 gal @ $1.61 per 1,000 gal. Tier 2: next 5,000 gal @ $2.87. Tier 3: next 10,000 gal @ $4.27. Tier 4: over 20,000 gal @ $6.33. Source: lvvwd.com.
  • SNWA Water Smart Landscapes rebate: $5 per qualifying square foot on the first 10,000 sq ft (single-family residential). LVVWD residential customers receive an additional $2/sq ft — $7/sq ft combined. $2.50/sq ft thereafter (or $4.50/sq ft LVVWD combined). Fiscal year July 1 – June 30. Source: snwa.com.
  • Rebate is a pre-application program. If you remove grass before applying and getting approval, you forfeit the rebate. A rebate-fluent partner handles this paperwork.
  • This tool is an estimate, not a quote. Mojave Match is not a contractor, doesn't perform the work, and doesn't guarantee rebate approval. Rebate eligibility and approval are determined solely by SNWA.
  • SNWA Excessive Use Charge: single-family residential customers who exceed seasonal thresholds pay an additional $9/1,000 gal above threshold. High-usage customers will see even bigger savings — not modeled in this calculator because we don't know your threshold.
